Funafuti, Tuvalu

In Funafuti, training in Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) methods has been organised and carried out in collaboration with Ridge to Reef Tuvalu (R2R) and Corals for Conservation Fiji (C4C). The training of community facilitators and community development workers has taken place to strengthen local project planning, stakeholder engagement and capacity building on future conservation efforts.

Due to degraded marine resources in Funafuti, C4C was also contracted by R2R Tuvalu to conduct training on coral restoration on Marine resource recovery through community- conservation areas and fish habitat restoration of mangroves and corals, using bleaching resistant corals for climate adaptation.

The work by C4C on this project has been co-funded by The Conservation, Food & Health Foundation, JWP and private ‘Global Giving’ donations. Donations to this project will go directly to C4C to continue the consultation and training of Tuvaluans working on the R2R Tuvalu project.
